Górka Szczęśliwicka reopening — the 2026/2027 season

The ski slope at Górka Szczęśliwicka is undergoing a major renovation and is closed for the 2025/2026 season. Skiers and snowboarders return in the 2026/2027 season — to a slope with new lifts, snowmaking and lighting. Here is everything we know about the works and the reopening.

What is happening at Górka Szczęśliwicka?

The only ski slope within Warsaw is going through its biggest modernisation since the centre was built. The previous lifts were over 25 years old — the renovation replaces the lifts, the snowmaking system and the slope lighting. The works are run by the facility operator, the municipal centre Aktywna Warszawa (CSN Szczęśliwice).

For this reason the slope is closed for the 2025/2026 season. The good news: after the renovation the hill comes back in much better shape. The full story and slope parameters are in our guide to Górka Szczęśliwicka.

What changes after the reopening?

After the modernisation, skiers can expect:

  • new lifts — replacing equipment more than 25 years old,
  • a new snowmaking system — more reliable conditions all winter,
  • new lighting — evening skiing after dark.

The run itself remains what skiers value it for: about 227 m long with an average gradient of around 19%, covered with dry ski matting that allows riding beyond winter. It remains the best place to learn to ski without leaving Warsaw — gentle, predictable and close to home.

When do the works end? The timeline

The renovation calendar looks like this:

  • 2025/2026 season — the slope is closed, works are in progress,
  • 2026 — planned completion of the works,
  • 2026/2027 season — the slope reopens and skiers return.

The exact opening date depends on the progress of the works and the operator’s decision. You can watch the site live via our live camera.

What is open during the renovation?

The renovation concerns the ski slope — the rest of the complex operates as usual:

  • the gravity coaster — a downhill track with two-person cars, running from spring to autumn regardless of the works,
  • Szczęśliwicki Park — paths, the lake, playgrounds and the outdoor gym stay open,
  • the centre building at ul. Drawska 22 (renovated in 2022) — the base for our classes and camps,
  • the live camera — a live view of the hill.

Directions and parking are unchanged: getting there.

Where do we teach in the meantime?

Our school does not pause training during the renovation. In winter 2025/2026 we teach on a real slope at Szwajcaria Bałtowska — including during our winter ski and snowboard day camps based at Górka Szczęśliwicka, and on one-day ski trips.

Children and adults do not lose the season: you can start learning or keep your form, and smoothly return to lessons in Warsaw once the hill reopens.

Get ready for the 2026/2027 season

The reopening is the best moment to plan your first steps on skis or a snowboard. See what ski lessons and snowboard lessons look like at the hill — private or in group classes. For children we have a dedicated page on ski lessons for kids.
