In the first week of the 2027 Mazovian winter break we are taking the whole group to Špindlerův Mlýn in the Czech Krkonoše — from Saturday 30 January to Saturday 6 February. About 27 km of runs spread over five ski areas above the town, linked by a free ski bus and, from this winter, a new chairlift: wide, gentle slopes for children to learn on and sporty descents for parents, a World Cup course included. We stay at a family hotel with breakfast and dinner.
Our home for the winter break
We are looking for a family hotel for the whole group — about 10 families plus our staff — so that everyone heads to the slopes together in the morning and meets at one table in the evening. The interest list hears the hotel’s name first, before sign-ups open.
Until the hotel is confirmed we do not publish prices — the interest list gets the price list first.
Discover Špindlerův Mlýn
Špindlerův Mlýn lies in the Elbe valley a few kilometres from the Polish border, inside the Krkonoše National Park. It is the best-known ski resort in Czechia: the women’s World Cup races on the Svatý Petr runs — Mikaela Shiffrin made her World Cup debut here — and from December 2026 a new chairlift links Medvědín with the rest of the resort on skis for the first time.
Click an area number or a point on the map to see its card. Run colours: blue easy, red intermediate, black difficult. On a phone, drag the map sideways.
The most popular area: the long blue Turistická (2.7 km), red runs and the black FIS World Cup course where the world’s best slalom skiers race. A 6-seat chairlift with a bubble and heated seats takes you up to Pláň, and on the Audi Race Track you can time your run.
Two varied red runs and a funtrack right above the town, linked on skis with the Svatý Petr area. In the evening the Hromovka I run (about 1.5 km) is floodlit — last season every day 18:00–21:00. From December 2026 the new chairlift from Terminal P1 arrives here too.
The resort’s highest point: a 4-seat chairlift from next to the aquapark takes you up to 1,233 m. The longest runs are here — the blue Vodovodní cesta (2.8 km) and the red Červená (2.3 km) — and at the top the area links on skis with Horní Mísečky. From this winter the new Lesní run takes you down to Terminal P1.
A wide, gentle slope at about 1,000–1,200 m — ideal for families with children and beginners, says the operator — with a snowpark and a funtrack. The town ski bus does not come here: you drive up or ski over from Medvědín.
A smaller, quiet area above the Elbe reservoir: a 3-seat chairlift and a red run through the forest (1.8 km). Reached by the free ski bus (line 4) — a good place for calmer skiing when the bigger areas are busy.
A promenade along the Elbe, restaurants, shops and rentals. Free ski buses run from the town and the valley car parks — 4 lines, roughly hourly — to every area except Horní Mísečky.
A new hub above the Elbe reservoir: a car park and a 6-seat chairlift with heated seats that takes you up to Hromovka in about 4 minutes. From this winter you can ski from Medvědín to the Svatý Petr area for the first time (one way for now); a gondola from P1 up to Medvědín follows in winter 2027/28.
Three slides, a 20 × 12 m pool at 28 °C, a lazy river and a paddling pool — a sure plan for an afternoon after skiing. 90-minute entry (autumn 2026 prices): adults CZK 390, children under 15 CZK 290, little ones under 100 cm free.
The longest floodlit toboggan run in Czechia, says the operator: the start is by Špindlerova bouda just below the Polish border, the finish here at Dívčí lávky. A bus takes you up from the town, the run is floodlit in the evening Tuesday to Saturday (18–21), and children under 7 ride free with an adult.
A stone dam over a hundred years old below the town. A winter walk from the centre (about 6.5 km) is a good idea for a day off skis.

The Elbe rises a few kilometres from the Medvědín top station. At the stone well hang the coats of arms of 26 towns along the river — all the way to the North Sea.
Near the source of the Elbe falls the Pančavský vodopád — 148 m, the highest in Czechia.
The first tourists came here from Wrocław in 1865, Špindl is twinned with Podgórzyn, and by Špindlerova bouda on the Karkonosze Pass there is a crossing into Poland.
The new runs cross two bridges — over the Elbe and over the road from Vrchlabí. The first was lifted into place by the largest crane in Czechia.
The 1954 ski jumps in the Svatý Petr valley appear in the 1972 Czech comedy “Homolka a Tobolka”. They were dismantled in the 1980s.
Children under 6 ride the lifts free — bring a document with your child’s date of birth, such as an EHIC card.

Our coordinator stays with the group throughout: rooms, lift passes, the day plan and everything on site — in Polish.

Czechia or Austria?
Both trips follow the same format: breakfast and dinner, a lift pass included and our lessons as options. They differ in the drive and the size of the mountains.

Training is led by Zone4 instructors — the same people children ski with at Górka Szczęśliwicka, day camps and one-day trips.
Groups of 6–8, from first steps to technique polishing — everyone trains at their own pace, nobody waits and nobody chases.
Abroad, but with no language barrier: our instructors run the lessons and our coordinator handles everything on site. No searching for a local school.
For years we have run one-day trips and winter day camps — we know how to organise a slope day for kids and parents alike.
The hotel’s name, the price list and sign-up details for the Czech trip go to the interest list first — with priority booking before open sign-ups start.
