The slope at Arłamów belongs to the hotel and sits about 100 m from its entrance: four easy runs totalling roughly 1.5 km, snowed and floodlit, served by two platter lifts and a magic carpet for children.
Arłamów lies in the Bieszczady district, in the Ustrzyki Dolne commune, where the Przemyśl Foothills meet the Słonne Mountains. The place has an unusual history: a government retreat built in the 1970s, where Lech Wałęsa was interned in 1982, it is today a large hotel with its own sports facilities. The ski slope is part of that complex and stands about 100 metres from the main building.
The scale is modest. The operator lists four runs totalling over 1.5 km — the longest is around 550 m, and the largest vertical is about 90 m, with the hilltop at roughly 590 m above sea level. They are served by two platter lifts of 400 and 500 m plus a magic carpet for the youngest skiers. Every run has snowmaking, floodlighting and regular grooming.
In practice this is a slope for learning and relaxed skiing rather than serious training. Its biggest asset is the absence of crowds: Arłamów sits deep in the forests of the Carpathian wilderness, far from other settlements, so lift queues are rare even during school holidays. Anyone after longer descents will find them at the slopes around Ustrzyki Dolne in the same region.
This is a slope for beginners, children and anyone returning to skiing after a break. The runs are short, wide and gentle — the most demanding drops about 90 m over 500 metres, which with good grooming makes for calm, predictable conditions in which to learn to turn. Children start on the carpet and move on to the shorter platter lift. Intermediates can get solid technique practice and dozens of repetitions a day, but advanced skiers will leave unsatisfied: there are no red or black runs, no snowpark and no descent long enough to build real speed. Arłamów is a place for a family stay rather than a dedicated ski trip.
The address is Arłamów 1 in the Ustrzyki Dolne commune, about 35 km from Przemyśl. From Warsaw it is roughly 435 km, about 5 hours: the S17 and S19 via Lublin towards Rzeszów, then the A4 eastwards, leaving near Przemyśl and continuing on local roads via Krasiczyn or Kalwaria Pacławska. From Rzeszów it is about 125 km, from Kraków about 280 km.
The final stretch is a winding forest road climbing uphill and needs care in winter — with snow on the ground, winter tyres are essential and a first visit is best not attempted after dark. There is parking at the hotel and the slope is about 100 metres away, so the car stays put once you arrive. Public transport barely reaches the area; the nearest railway stations are Przemyśl and Ustrzyki Dolne.
Driving distances
The season at Arłamów is shorter than in the higher mountains and depends heavily on the weather — the resort quotes mid-December to mid-March as a guide, and in 2024/2025 the slope operated from 28 December to 9 March, 67 days in total. The runs face south-west and get a lot of sun, so in milder spells snowmaking and overnight top-ups do the heavy lifting. Floodlighting genuinely extends the skiing day in midwinter. Check the resort’s current status before travelling, as opening dates shift from year to year.
Arłamów sits on the boundary between the Słonne Mountains Landscape Park and the Przemyśl Foothills Landscape Park, surrounded by Carpathian forest. Within about an hour’s drive are Ustrzyki Dolne, Lake Solina with its dam and the Bieszczady National Park; to the north lie Przemyśl with its old town and fortress works, the castle at Krasiczyn and the monastery at Kalwaria Pacławska. The region is part of a dark-sky reserve, so clear winter nights offer unusually good stargazing.
Zone4 is a ski and snowboard school from Warsaw building ZoneCloud — a booking system for lessons with instructors. We do not own any slope: what we add is the thing slopes usually lack, namely a free slot with a named instructor, visible online and bookable on the spot. Today it runs at Górka Szczęśliwicka in Warsaw, at Rybno and at Szwajcaria Bałtowska.
The next step is a nationwide network — including Arłamów. We are building the instructor team here and will open lesson booking together with it. If you are looking for an instructor in Arłamów for the coming season, leave your details and we will let you know the moment bookings open. If you teach here yourself, read the section below.
We are looking for ski and snowboard instructors in Arłamów and the surrounding area (podkarpackie Province). The arrangement is freelance and non-exclusive — you can teach with us alongside your own clients or a local ski school. You set your availability in the schedule; we bring the students and handle bookings and settlements.
ZoneCloud gives an instructor what working solo does not: a public profile with a description and photo, a calendar of free slots, online bookings and payments, and a lesson history in one place. Instead of fielding calls on a Saturday morning, you get a filled schedule.
Instructor qualifications (SITN-PZN or equivalent) are a strong plus but not an entry barrier — what counts is confident, technical riding and the ability to work with people, especially children. You attach scans and a CV in the online application.
The online application takes about 5 minutes and creates your provisional instructor account.
This is the ski resort’s address. Zone4 neither owns nor manages it — we run lesson bookings and the instructor network. The number listed is our contact.
