Bałtów attractions — beyond the slope

Bałtów is more than a ski slope. The Bałtów Tourist Complex — with JuraPark, the animal park and the Kamienna river valley — is among the largest leisure complexes in Poland. See what is worth visiting on a ski trip.

JuraPark — the dinosaur park

Bałtów’s flagship is JuraPark — the first dinosaur park in Poland, opened in 2004. Life-size models of prehistoric reptiles line the educational trail, and the exhibitions tell the story of life on Earth. A classic stop on family trips — and one of the attractions we stay next to during our camps.

Bałtów’s dinosaur connection is no accident: fossilised dinosaur tracks discovered nearby gave rise to the whole complex.

The Bałtów animal park — a safari ride

The second big attraction is the Bałtów animal park — extensive enclosures on the hills above the Kamienna valley, visited safari-style, with deer, fallow deer, mouflons and animals from around the world seen up close. The ride takes about an hour and works in every season.

The Kamienna valley — rafts, bikes and walks

Bałtów lies in a picturesque gorge of the Kamienna river, among the limestone hills of the Bałtów foothills. In summer the river raft ride is popular, and the local roads and paths invite cycling and walks overlooking the valley. Some attractions are seasonal — check the complex’s current offer before you travel.

In winter: the Szwajcaria Bałtowska ski slope

In winter the heart of the complex is the Szwajcaria Bałtowska ski station: about 2.5 km of snowed runs, a 4-person chairlift and evening skiing under floodlights. Details are in the guide to the resort.

Zone4 runs ski and snowboard training on the slope — on one-day trips and winter camps.

Attractions on Zone4 camps

On our winter day camps we combine ski training with the complex’s attractions: mornings on the slope, and in free time visits with the children to JuraPark and the animal park, among others. Winter break in Bałtów is a full programme — also for kids who need a break from skiing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What attractions does Bałtów have?
The best known are JuraPark with life-size dinosaur models, the Bałtów animal park visited safari-style, the seasonal raft ride on the Kamienna river and, in winter, the Szwajcaria Bałtowska ski slope. All within one tourist complex.
Is JuraPark close to the slope?
Yes — the ski slope and JuraPark belong to the same Bałtów Tourist Complex and sit next to each other, within a short walk or a few minutes by car.
Do the attractions operate in winter?
The ski slope operates in winter and the animal park can be visited year-round. Some attractions (like the raft ride) are seasonal — check the complex’s current offer before you travel.
Do children visit the attractions on Zone4 camps?
Yes — in time free from ski training we visit the complex’s attractions with the children, including JuraPark and the animal park. The programme is published at sign-up for each session.
How much time should I plan for the attractions?
Half a day to a full day is enough to see JuraPark and the animal park safari at a relaxed pace. On a ski trip a good pattern is skiing in the morning and attractions in the afternoon.
