Master-Ski Tylicz — ski resort

Master-Ski occupies north-facing slopes dropping towards the centre of Tylicz, a village in the Krynica-Zdrój commune barely 7 km from the spa town. The base station sits at about 567 m and the top at about 680 m, giving a vertical drop of roughly 113 m. That is modest for the Sądecki Beskids, but the northern aspect combined with full snowmaking keeps snow on the ground longer than on many higher yet sun-exposed hills nearby.

The resort advertises around 10 km of runs; independent ski portals count about 9.5 km, and that lower figure is the safer reference. The great majority of the pistes are blue and the longest measures roughly 1.4 km. Six installations move skiers uphill: the six-seater detachable Master-Ski Sport chairlift, about 1000 m long, opened for the 2022/23 season and fitted with wind hoods; the older four-seater Master-Ski Family; plus platter lifts and magic carpets in the learning zone.

The resort is unmistakably family-oriented, and the infrastructure shows it: alongside standard pistes there is a funpark with a tunnel, a snowpark, a run threading between the trees (the “enchanted forest”), a winter playground and a sledging area. On site you will find a ski and snowboard kindergarten, a ski school, a rental shop with servicing, a regional inn at the base and a restaurant at the top of the hill.

Master-Ski is built around learning to ski, and that is the best way to read it. A vertical of just over a hundred metres produces short descents that forgive mistakes, and the predominance of wide blue pistes means ski-school groups are not constantly cutting across one another. The youngest ski in a fenced toddler zone with magic carpets and a baby-ski lift, set apart from the main pistes. Confident skiers get steeper sections beneath the six-seater chairlift, the funpark with its tunnel and the snowpark, but anyone after a long, technical descent will leave unsatisfied — that calls for a drive of a dozen or so kilometres to Jaworzyna Krynicka.

The station address is ul. Kazimierza Pułaskiego 11a, 33-383 Tylicz, with the base practically in the middle of the village. From Warsaw it is about 440 km, roughly 5.5 hours: the S7 to Kraków, then the DK75 to Nowy Sącz and the DK87 along the Poprad valley through Piwniczna and Muszyna to Krynica-Zdrój, then road 981 heading east. From Kraków it takes about 2.5 hours, from Rzeszów much the same, and from Nowy Sącz about 50 minutes.

There is free parking at the base station, and in season the resort runs a ski bus serving local guesthouses and Krynica. Bear in mind that Tylicz has two independent ski areas — Master-Ski and Tylicz.Ski — on opposite sides of the village, each with its own pass; the names are easy to confuse when booking accommodation. The Slovak border crossing at Muszynka is about 5 km away.

Master-Ski is regularly among the first resorts in Lesser Poland to open: the 2025/26 season started on 22 November, and the previous one on 29 November. That comes down to aggressive snowmaking at the first hard frosts and the northern aspect of the hill. Closing usually falls around the turn of February and March, though in a good winter the resort keeps the pistes running longer. Floodlighting covers the main runs, so the day can be stretched into the evening; since the resort serves mainly guests from local guesthouses and Krynica, the heaviest traffic falls on weekend mornings and the first days of the school break.

Tylicz makes a practical base for the whole Sądecki region: Krynica-Zdrój, with its promenade, mineral-water pump room and funicular up Góra Parkowa, is under 7 km away, while Jaworzyna Krynicka and Słotwiny Arena are a few minutes further by car. Tylicz itself has a cross-country centre with loops by the “Domki w Lesie” complex and a trail linking the village with Krynica. Nearby sights include the UNESCO-listed wooden Orthodox church in Powroźnik and the Poprad valley with the spa towns of Muszyna and Żegiestów.

Zone4 is a ski and snowboard school from Warsaw building ZoneCloud — a booking system for lessons with instructors. We do not own any slope: what we add is the thing slopes usually lack, namely a free slot with a named instructor, visible online and bookable on the spot. Today it runs at Górka Szczęśliwicka in Warsaw, at Rybno and at Szwajcaria Bałtowska.
